Next week, the Donald Trump administration will begin interviews with political appointees in the Pentagon to verify their loyalty to the president.
This was reported by the publication “Foreign Policy”, citing its own sources.
According to media reports, as early as Wednesday, the White House’s communications department circulated a letter to officials from the Department of Defense urging them to schedule a meeting with representatives of the presidential administration.
All Pentagon political appointees, both appointed by the president and approved by Congress, will participate in this program. Thus, Trump checks officials for loyalty.
“This is an opportunity for each nominee to discuss their career and interests for 2021 and beyond”, – the e-mail says.
At the same time, the sources of the publication do not exclude that officials who have not passed the loyalty test can be dismissed in the near future.
