DPRK does not see point in negotiations with the US

The North Korean Foreign Ministry doubts the feasibility of trying to negotiate with Washington.

According to Interfax with reference to the Central Telegraph Agency of Korea, DPRK Deputy Foreign Minister Choi Song-hee said that at present there is no need to resume the negotiation process between Pyongyang and Washington, since the US uses it only as a “political tool”.

“We do not feel any need to sit face to face in negotiations with the United States, since they consider the dialogue between our countries nothing more than a tool to overcome the internal political crisis”, – the diplomat said in a statement.

The statement was made on the eve of the visit of the US Deputy Secretary of State Stephen Bigan to South Korea next week. He intends to discuss stalled negotiations with North Korea with Seoul.
