Ukraine intends to use American Javelin complexes in Donbass

Brigades of Ukrainian security forces in Donbass will be reinforced with American Javelin missile systems in future, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ruslan Khomchak said.

The delivery of the first batch of Javelin to Ukraine – 37 launchers and 210 missiles worth 47m dollars – was approved in March 2018. Later, the US still delivered missiles for Javelin.

“We now have a much larger number of American Javelin anti-tank missile systems. By the way, so is the number of prepared calculations. How many are there? It’s a mystery. I can only say that in the future, each of the brigades that will enter the area of Joint Forces operations, will strengthen Javelin,” – said Khomchak in an interview with the agency “ArmyInform”, which was published on Thursday.

According to him, one of the brigades is currently undergoing training at the firing range to perform tasks in Donbass. This brigade is actively “practicing the tactics of Javelin.

Earlier, the U.S. embassy in Ukraine said that the Ukrainian law enforcers will receive $60m worth of arms and equipment, including radios, ammunition and Javelin missiles.
