Survey of German companies: Unanimous waiver of Russian sanctions

Most German companies operating in Russia are in favour of lifting the EU economic sanctions against Russia. This follows from a survey by the Russian-German Chamber of Commerce.

“The vast majority of German companies in Russia (95%) demand the gradual or immediate lifting of European sanctions against Russia”, –  says a press release from the Russian-German Chamber of Commerce.

Only five percent believe that the restrictions should be observed. But no company is in favor of tougher sanctions.

According to a survey published on July 2, 2020, 41.5% of respondents are in favor of immediate lifting of sanctions against Russia. 53.4% are in favor of the gradual removal of restrictions.

Recall that on Monday the EU decided to extend sanctions against certain sectors of the Russian economy for another six months. The measures introduced in connection with the crisis in Ukraine will remain in force until 31 January 2021.
