Illegal logging in Ukraine continues even during quarantine, and large quantities of wood goes to large European production. Huge sums of money are raised to 8-10 billion hryvnias a year to take out forests. Therefore, the schemes are still working successfully.
The British non-governmental organization Earthsight published an investigation a year and a half ago, which produced the effect of the exploded bomb. In particular, it was found out that there is a large-scale felling in our country, and most of the wood is sent to the EU. Moreover, Ukraine is ahead of all other countries in terms of illegal forest supplies to Europe. Part of the “left” timber then came up at furniture manufactures of known European companies.
The new investigation is no less scandalous than the previous one. It says that illegal logging in Ukraine is still in full swing. And illegal timber is actively taken even by famous European furniture makers.
