Former CIA resident in Pakistan sure Russia didn't pay militants for killing US soldiers

According to TASS, U.S. CIA veteran Milton Bearden, who headed the CIA’s residency in Pakistan in 1986-1989 and was also responsible for Afghanistan, doubts that Russia could offer remuneration to Afghan Taliban militants for killing US troops.

“It would be a crazy operation that would be compromised before it could start,” he said on Thursday, responding by email to questions from a TASS correspondent.
