NYT published a new article on the topic of “conspiracy” of Russia with the Taliban

The American edition of NYT published a new article on the topic of “conspiracy” of Russia with the Taliban.

With reference to unnamed sources, it claims that it was possible to intercept electronic data showing large financial transfers from a bank account, which supposedly belongs to Russian intelligence, to an account connected with the Taliban. According to the authors, this is evidence of Russia’s support for the radical group in Afghanistan.

At the same time, the Pentagon said there is currently no evidence of Russia’s involvement in hostile actions against US troops in Afghanistan, said Defense Minister Mark Esper.

“I want to assure all our employees that the ministry is seriously considering all potential threats against US military personnel”, – Esper said, quoted by RT.

Earlier, The New York Times published an article claiming that Russian military intelligence allegedly offered rewards to Taliban-related militants for attacks on US troops in Afghanistan.

The US President Donald Trump, commenting on the publication of the New York Times, called it “another order”, and said that no one had reported to him, or the vice president, or the head of the White House’s office about the so-called Russian attacks on US troops in Afghanistan.

In turn, representatives of the radical Taliban movement also denied allegations of receiving funds to organize attacks on the military contingent of the international coalition in Afghanistan.
