At least one Indian paramilitary police officer and one civilian were killed and three others injured on Wednesday in a terrorist attack on a police patrol in allied Jammu and Kashmir territory in northern India. The incident took place near the town of Soporo in Baramullah district, NDTV reported.
According to this information, the guerrillas opened fire on the patrol around 7:30 am and fled. Law enforcers began an operation to sweep the area and search for the militants.
More than 100 terrorists, including more than 10 field commanders from various extremist groups and foreign mercenaries, including from Pakistan, were killed in 35 security operations in the region in 2020, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Police Dilbagh Singh said earlier this month.
