The Supreme Court of Justice questioned the objectivity of the decisions made 2 years ago in the case of the assassination attempt against oligarch Vladimir Plahotniuc, who is now hiding from justice in the United States.
This is said in a statement by the VSP.
According to the indictment, which was issued in December 2018, the director of the Moldovan branch of the Sports Veterans Support Fund Valery Zabolotny formed a criminal group to kill Plahotniuc, who was then the head of the Democratic Party and secretly controlled all law enforcement agencies.
Then six people were sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 11 to 23 years, although they never pleaded guilty. The defendants claimed that the case was ordered and constituted an act of intimidation on the part of Plahotniuc. Thus, the oligarch showed what happens to those who go against him.
As it became known, the earlier sentences were canceled, although the accused will remain in custody until the case is reviewed by the updated composition of the judicial board.
