Mortar fire in one of the Afghan provinces killed 10 people

According to sources, the shelling was carried out by units of the Afghan army in the Taliban, who took refuge in the area.

As reported today, June 29, the Ariana News television channel, citing a source in the security service, as a result of mortar shelling in the Afghan province of Helmand, at least 10 people died and 15 were injured.

“Several mortar shells exploded in a residential area of ​​Sangin County. At the same time, the source clarified that the shelling was carried out by units of the Afghan army in the Taliban, who took refuge in the area. The decision was made after the militants made several attacks on the security forces. All the victims were civilians, the source added”, – the report said.

Provincial Governor Omer Zwak, confirmed the fact of the shelling, but denied information about the victims.
