Mass demonstrations were held in European capitals on the occasion of World Refugee Day. In Athens, several thousand people took to the streets, and this is no accident, since Greece in recent years has been one of the main points of arrival in the Mediterranean for refugees and migrants from Africa and the Middle East.

“Refugees are often attacked. However, this is unfair. The authorities see them as a threat, but refugees are not our enemies, ” said Margarita Kutsanelu, a union activist.
To date, more than 50 thousand people are in Greek refugee centers in Greece. Moreover, these centers are simply not designed for such a number of people. However, despite the difficult conditions, more and more forced migrants arrive here every month.
