Macron stressed commitment to dialogue of trust with Russia

French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed that France seeks to develop dialogue with Russia, and to conduct it frankly. This was announced by the Champs Elysees following a telephone conversation between the head of state and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“The head of the French state reaffirmed his commitment to a regular and frank dialogue with Russia. He expressed satisfaction with the dynamics of bilateral Franco-Russian relations, developing in the spirit of the agreements reached in Versailles in May during President Putin’s visit, ” the palace said in a statement.

Macron also emphasized that the link between the civil societies of the two countries is important. It will be strengthened thanks to the Trianon Dialogue forum, which the presidents agreed to hold in May at the Versailles talks.
