Demonstrators in Beirut demanded the release of detained protesters

In Lebanon, massive anti-Government protests continue.

In the capital Beirut, protesters gathered near the Palais de Justice, demanding the release of activists detained and charged with leading the riots.

Demonstrators in front of the Palais de Justice blocked the road, believing that “the decision to arrest the activists and hand them over to an investigating judge is primarily a political decision”.

They chanted slogans calling for the arrest and trial of thieves: “They declared that their movement today is legitimate and that the arrested are university graduates, not gangsters, but rather defenders of their rights, the rights of the Lebanese people and their livelihoods”.
