Tehran: U.S. policy of pressure on Iran has failed

Iran has commented on the U.S. sanctions on fuel supplies to Venezuela.

According to RIA “Novosti” with reference to the statement of the official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Abbas Musavi, Tehran believes that the imposed sanctions against Iranian tankers for fuel supplies to Venezuela indicate the failure of the “pressure policy” in the U.S.

“Desperate steps taken by the U.S. against Iranian citizens, as those announced by Pompeo… only testify to the miserable failure of the so-called “maximum pressure” policy. Despite the pressure from the U.S., Iran and Venezuela remain steadfast in the fight against illegal American sanctions”, –  said Mousawi.

Recall that Washington has imposed sanctions on the captains of five Iranian tankers seen supplying fuel for Caracas. The White House is studying the possibility of increasing restrictions.
