Belarus did not present arguments for interfering in the election process, it makes us think about Minsk’s accusations against Moscow, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the reporters.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said he plans to meet with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in the near future and discuss outside interference in elections in the republic.
Answering the question about whether the Russian authorities consider it necessary to conduct their own investigation and find out whether Lukashenko is right, Peskov said:
“Probably, the side that accuses should present some arguments”.
To a clarifying question, whether Belarus presented such arguments, Peskov noted that this makes, and even obliges us to contemplate on the issue.
“To think about how similar accusations against our country can correspond to reality. As for the investigation in this regard, thank you, we are not living in Washington”, – the spokesman for the Russian president said.
