Rescued refugees in Germany: Why were most migrants young and healthy?

A request from the Alternative for Germany party revealed this: the alleged “refugees” that the German government picked up from Greek refugee camps in March were not “sick” at all, as was often reported.

Earlier, the German government said earlier that it was ready to accept migrants who are most in need of help, namely the elderly, minors, mothers with children, people with a number of serious diseases, etc.

However, in fact, everything turned out differently. And, according to the results of the inquiry of the Alternative for Germany party, the majority of the saved migrants are healthy Muslim men.

Reception of refugees is carried out by European and Greek authorities. They send lists of potential asylum candidates to Germany. The German Ministry of the Interior and the Directorate for Migration and Refugees then announce whether they agree to specifically accept these migrants. The German Ministry of the Interior reports that such a selection procedure costs 2,600 euros per person. Transferring 47 people selected then cost an additional 32,924 euros.

Anton Friesen, a member of the Alternative for Germany party, who submitted the request, considers the criticism of the refugee admission process justified. On behalf of the parliamentary group, he now demands even more support for the refugees.

“It is more culturally compatible and cheaper. From my own experience, I know that, for example, the cost of living per person in the Al-Azraq Jordanian refugee camp near the Syrian border is $ 30 per month. “
