Murder, harassment, torture: Kosovo “president” accused of war crimes

The head of the self-proclaimed “Republic of Kosovo,” Hashim Tachi, has been charged with a number of war crimes during the 1998-1999 armed conflict.

The relevant decision was made by the tribunal investigating crimes against ethnic Serbs during the Kosovo war. In addition to Tachi, the list of accused of crimes against humanity includes nine more former militants.

Hashim Thachi, being one of the leaders of the armed formation of the Kosovo Liberation Army, as well as his accomplices, “are criminally responsible for nearly 100 murders,” according to investigation documents. In addition, they are accused of enforced disappearances, harassment and torture.
