The lawyer of the defendant Oleh Pulatov, Sabine ten Dusskhate, said during the hearing in the MN17 case that it cannot be ruled out that the plane was shot down by the Ukrainian military.
“Today we want to talk about the scenario, according to which the plane could have been shot down by the Ukrainian “Book” SAM system. Yesterday we talked about another scenario – that it could be a military plane. It is true. But we do not know the answer to this question. Therefore, we are also considering a scenario – whether it was “Book” and whether it belonged to Ukraine”, – she said.
It is assumed that the story could have been repeated with the Russian plane of Sibir Airlines, which was shot down by the AFU in 2001 over the Black Sea.
In 2014, the Ukrainian fighters had access to a large number of weapons, including 9M38 and 9M38M1 missiles.
