Belarus has to pay dearly for its independence.
This statement was made by the head of the republic, Alexander Lukashenko.
According to him, now the country is facing strong external pressure, in particular, economic. Lukashenko explained this by the fact that Belarusians became “too independent”.
“Fighting with us is already dangerous, but we must tilt it. They have become too independent, ”said a statement released by the presidential press service on Monday, June 22.
Lukashenko emphasized that sovereignty is the most important value of any state, but its price is too high. So he drew attention to attempts to return the inhabitants of the republic “under the whip” and “put on bast shoes.” In this regard, Lukashenko called on the people not to be allowed to push themselves, regardless of who wins the election.
Recall that the election of the President of the Republic of Belarus should take place on August 9, 2020. The political race in the country was marked by tough actions by the current leadership in relation to opponents. In particular, presidential candidate Viktor Babariko was arrested there along with his son.
It all started with the fact that the National Bank of Belarus introduced external management in Belgazprombank, of which Gazprom is a shareholder. The reason for this was the criminal cases of money laundering and tax evasion against a number of bank officials. It is noteworthy that the former head of Belgazprombank appears opponent Lukashenko in the presidential race Viktor Babariko.
As News Front previously reported, political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko explained what was happening behind the scenes of the machinations of Alexander Lukashenko’s entourage, who was convinced that Russia intends to implement a revolutionary scenario in Belarus.
