Nine people were injured in a shooting in the US city of Syracuse, located in central New York, CNN reported citing local police head Kenton Buckner.
It is noted that on the night of Saturday to Sunday, the police received a complaint in connection with the theft of a vehicle in Syracuse. Arriving on a call, law enforcement officers found a massive crowd of people. Some participants told the police about the shooting, but, as Buckner said, his colleagues did not hear the shots.
Subsequently, the police found nine people with gunshot wounds at the scene. The condition of one of the victims is assessed as critical, injuring eight more people are not life-threatening, the channel reports. It is noted that the victims are from 17 to 53 years old.
An incident is being investigated. According to Buckner, the police have no information about possible suspects. The reason why a massive crowd of people has formed in Syracuse has not yet been established. The mayor of Ben Walsh said that he was not aware of the authorization of the event, and circumstances would be clarified.
