Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal announced that the second wave of coronavirus has begun in Ukraine. The head of the Cabinet of Ministers said this during an extraordinary meeting today, June 19.
“Today is another anti-record for the incidence of coronavirus. A lot of people stopped observing quarantine rules, decided that the coronavirus disappeared and there was no more chance of getting sick. And we got the result – today there are almost a thousand patients confirmed by testing, ”said Shmygal.
The prime minister noted that this is a very alarming statistic, which indicates the beginning of a new wave of the disease.
“Today we actually get the start of the next, first or second wave of coronavirus incidence,” he added.
According to Shmygal, the only way to defeat the disease is to maintain social distance, disinfection and mask regimen.
“New victims of coronavirus, another wave of disease growth should be a signal that this is not a fake, not invented things. This is a threat that walks alongside each of us. Even those who have been ill and recovered strongly do not recommend getting sick – this is a complex disease with serious consequences and a rather high mortality rate, ”said Shmygal.
