Indian Defense Minister Rajnat Singh will arrive in Moscow next week for the Victory Parade, India Today reports citing a source.
According to a newspaper source, Singh’s visit to the Russian capital should begin on June 21. It is noted that during the visit, the Minister of Defense of India will meet with the leaders of Russia and other countries, with the exception of representatives of China.
The Indian delegation will also include Deputy Defense Minister Ajay Kumar and one senior military from each of the three branches of the Indian troops.
The Indian Ministry of Defense has previously confirmed that 75 Indian troops will take part in the Victory Day parade in Moscow on June 24.
“Participation in the parade will be a sign of respect and solidarity with the people of Russia at a time when he recalls his heroes of World War II”, – the Indian Defense Ministry said.
Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu previously said that Russia invited ceremonial calculations of 19 states to participate in the Victory Parade on Red Square. According to Dmitry Trishkin, head of the Main Military Medical Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, foreign participants and guests of the Victory Parade in Moscow will undergo a medical examination and pass tests for COVID-19 after arriving in Russia.
