In the Dutch capital, Amsterdam, a mass protest was held against the events in the USA with manifestations of racial discrimination against African Americans.
According to the organizers, the purpose of the rally was to show solidarity with protesters in the United States and to focus on “racism and violence by police in the Netherlands and the EU”.
Because of the protests, 25 cities in the United States have introduced curfews.
The U.S. embraced mass protests after one police officer in Minneapolis (Minnesota) threw 46-year-old George Floyd on the asphalt face down and became a knee on his neck during the detention. In this position, Floyd spent about seven minutes repeating himself: “Can’t breathe.” The man subsequently died in intensive care and video of his detention was made available on the Internet.
