Official Belgrade expects the arrival of the Russian president in October, to complete the decoration of the largest Orthodox church in the region – St. Sava Serbsky, which are carried out with the participation of Russian funds and specialists.

“We have already begun working on preparations for the arrival of Russian President Vladimir Putin, as you know, the page of the (Serbian relic) Miroslavov’s gospel will be returned to Serbia and placed in the National Museum”, – Vučić told the reporters at the ceremony of forming new army brigades in the city of Takovo.

“As you know, before Putin’s visit to Serbia, I will meet with him in Moscow at the Victory Day parade, in which the Serbian guard will take part with pride”, – the head of state said.

Vucic said earlier that he plans to meet face to face with the Russian president on June 23 before the parade.

At the end of last year, Putin announced that a valuable manuscript of the Miroslav Gospel would soon be handed over to Serbia. Earlier it was reported that Moscow and Belgrade agreed on an exchange of cultural values: several early works of Nicholas Roerich will be transferred to Russia, and the Serbian side will receive parchment, taken in the 19th century from the Miroslav Gospel.
