US is experiencing collapse of the gas industry

The reduction in natural gas production in the United States led to a blow to LNG producers.

The United States is currently experiencing a reduction in capacity utilization for liquefied natural gas. Moreover, as the head of the information and analytical division of Poten & Partners, Jason Fear, said, in 2020 LNG demand is expected to decrease by at least 6.7 million tons compared to 2019.

The collapse in energy prices made the export of American LNG to the European market unprofitable. Thus, a warm winter along with a coronavirus pandemic could deprive the US of leadership in the LNG market.
