US extended sanctions against Belarus

The United States extended the sanctions against Belarus for a year due to “a threat to national security by certain members of the government of this country.” This is stated in a notice signed by the US President Donald Trump, circulated by the White House.

“The actions and principles of certain members of the government of Belarus and others continue to pose a particular and extreme threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States. I will extend the national emergency regime announced by presidential decree 13405 for one year”, – the document says.
