The monument to Columbus was demolished in the southern U.S. capital

In the American city of Richmond (Virginia), protesters demolished the monument to Christopher Columbus, installed in Baird Park.

There, several thousand people gathered for a protest that was initially peaceful in nature.
At one point, the demonstrators used ropes to drop the statue, spray paint on it and set it on fire, and then threw it into the lake. In addition, they attacked the NBC12 photographer and forced him to leave the scene.
