US desperate attempts to master supersonic weapons have failed again.

According to media reports, the US Air Force strategic bomber B-52H Stratofortress lost the latest missile created by the Pentagon’s Advanced Research Projects Office.
The incident occurred during the testing of a prototype of ammunition, created as part of the program “Hypersonic Air-breathing Weapon Concept”. The missile detached from the bomber during a flight over California, after which it was destroyed. The reasons for the incident are established.
Earlier, News Front reported that the United States was trying to catch up with Russia in creating hypersonic weapons, but the Pentagon could not boast of successes. At the beginning of the year, it was decided to curtail one of the most important projects for the US, namely the Hypersonic Conventional Strike Weapon.
The Hypersonic Air-breathing Weapon Concept, in turn, is several months behind plans. So, the first flight tests of ammunition were supposed to take place last year.
