Republican congressmen called on Trump to refrain from withdrawing U.S. troops from Germany

Americans are shaken and afraid of the “hands of Moscow”, although Moscow does not need this at all.

They believe that such a move would seriously harm U.S. national security, and to the detriment of Washington would strengthen Moscow’s position.

On Tuesday, the U.S. Republican congressmen called on President Donald Trump to withdraw from Germany. This was reported by the press service of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Armed Forces Affairs.

“Senior Republican Mack Thornberry and 21 other members of the Committee from among the Republicans wrote a letter to President Trump today, calling on him to reject proposals to reduce the number of U.S. forces in Germany by 9.5 thousand and limit the number of [American] troops, simultaneously in Germany, to 25 thousand, it was reported earlier”, –  the report says.

“We believe that such a step will seriously harm the national security of the United States, as well as to our detriment will strengthen Russia’s position”, –  the letter says.

As always, Russia is to blame for everything in the United States.

On Friday, Reuters reported that Trump ordered the Pentagon to reduce the number of U.S. troops stationed in Germany. According to this data, 9,500 U.S. soldiers and officers will be withdrawn from Germany by September. At present, about 34,500 US servicemen are deployed in Germany. According to Reuters, a part of the troops withdrawn from Germany will be relocated to Poland and other countries and some will return to the United States.

White House spokesman Kaylie McInani told journalists at a briefing on Monday that the US administration currently has no official announcements regarding the withdrawal of US forces from Germany.
