The protest is taking place near the Nissan plant in Barcelona, the closure of which became known at the end of May.
Several hundred people gathered in front of the entrance to the plant, they burn tyres. This is evidenced by footage taken at the site by eyewitnesses to the events. Protesters have blocked off a number of neighboring streets.
The Japanese car concern Nissan has decided to close its plant in Barcelona. In 2019, the production of Nissan in Catalonia was about 30% of its maximum capacity.
