The U.S. Secret Service continues to negotiate with the Park Police on this issue.

Fences erected on the southern side of the White House in connection with the protests may be removed on Wednesday. This was reported to TASS on Tuesday by the U.S. National Park Service.

“The temporary fence near the southern side of the White House complex, including the Ellipse, will be removed on June 10 or so”, –  said the agency representative. – “The Secret Service continues negotiations with the U.S. Park Police regarding the temporary fence around Lafayette Square”, –  she added.

In late May, protests began in a number of U.S. states, during which there were clashes with police, numerous cases of looting and vandalism. The reason for this was the death of African American George Floyd in Minneapolis. On 25 May, law enforcement officers used a harsh suffocation technique during his detention. Shortly after that, an African-American died in hospital. A day later, all four police officers involved in the arrest were dismissed and charged the following days.

In Washington, DC, protests erupted on May 29. In the first few days, they degenerated into riots outside the White House, but then the heat of passion subsided. On Saturday, the U.S. capital hosted the most massive rally since the beginning of the protests, which was peaceful in nature.
