What’s happening in the U.S. today is the “America’s death rattle.”
This statement was made by Eddie Glode, a historian at Princeton University and head of the American Academy of Religions and African-American.
In an interview with the German edition of “Spiegel”, Glode gave a resonant explanation of the American crisis. In a racist impulse, he argued that “America is becoming less and less white.
“We hear America’s death rattle”, – he said. – “People know that the Republican Party and its demographic base are no longer expanding, but shrinking. They know that the number of conservative Christian whites supporting the Republicans is shrinking. You know that America is getting less and less white.”
According to him, these trends have led to “manic and panicky attempts to save America’s dying. At the same time, Glod noted that the catastrophic scale of the coronavirus epidemic in the U.S. and the murder of George Floyd accelerated the collapse.
“When the old world dies, the new world is born. And we are midwives”, – the professor stated.
