Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said the UK could not interfere in China’s internal affairs.
He stressed that Beijing and London must respect each other’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
“The affairs of Hong Kong are purely domestic affairs of China, interference in them is unacceptable”, – the diplomat said, talking to his British counterpart Dominic Raab.
In addition, Wang Yi stressed that China and Britain, as permanent members of the UN Security Council, should set an example of compliance with the basic norms of international relations and non-interference in the domestic policy of other countries.
