President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev said that there will be no construction of a US military base in his country.
“The construction of a US military base in Kazakhstan is not discussed and is not on the agenda,” he said in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda.
Tokayev noted that Kazakhstan and the United States are in contact on disarmament issues, discussing cooperation in areas such as energy, investment, technology.
In addition, he noted that now the Americans have left the former Almaty Plague Institute, where they worked in the field of biological safety. Now only Kazakh specialists are left there. Tokayev emphasized that he was ready to cooperate with the Russian side on this issue.
