Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Cristina Lesnik held a video meeting with representatives of several embassies and international organizations accredited in Chisinau, during which she informed her Western partners that, despite the “self-isolation position chosen by Tiraspol,” Chisinau is open to dialogue with the Transnistrian side.
“The initiative of the joint crisis management body to alleviate the situation of citizens and economic agents on both banks of the Dniester remains,” said Lesnik, “Since the state of emergency began, there have been problems with the return of Moldovan citizens from the region, the restriction of their freedom of movement, as well as their access to healthcare. ”
Earlier, the political representative of Transnistria, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vitaly Ignatiev, accused the Moldovan counterpart of avoiding a constructive dialogue and “implementing the functionality defined by the agreements of the negotiation process”, referring to her lack of authority to resolve current issues. Thus, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR, the Forester blocks compliance with previously reached agreements, the implementation of which is necessary for further progress
