The U.S. Congress should immediately take action to improve the quality of police work. This was stated by Joseph Biden, seeking the nomination of a candidate from the Democrats in the upcoming presidential elections in the country.
Biden, in the light of protests and riots that swept through the country, said he called for “Congress to take action this month.” According to him, the “real police reform” should be the first step. As the former vice president emphasized, Congress should consider as soon as possible a bill banning police officers from using asphyxiation.
As Biden noted, measures must be taken to ensure that police officers are fully accountable. Biden noted that if he wins the election within the first 100 days after the inauguration, he will form a special commission that will oversee the work of the police in the country.
