The US Customs and Border Guards are deployed nationwide in response to protests that erupted in the United States following the death of George Floyd.
Acting Commissioner of the US Customs and Border Control (CBP) Mark Morgan said the agency has deployed personnel to various parts of the United States, including the District of Columbia, where Washington is located.
Morgan said that the Customs were ordered to “help colleagues in law enforcement” respond to protests that, he said, “turned into chaos [and] acts of internal terrorism by groups of radicals [and] agitators”.
