The Nord Stream-2 project remains at the center of the Russian-Austrian energy dialogue with political support from both sides, Russian Ambassador to Austria Dmitry Lyubinsky said on Tuesday.
The Gazprom and OMV energy concerns have been working closely for over 50 years, and the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project, in which OMV is actively investing, remains at the center of the Russian-Austrian energy dialogue. With political support from both sides, the ambassador said as part of an online event organized by the Austrian-Russian Friendship Society in Vienna.
Lubinsky emphasized that, despite the crisis affecting the entire world around the coronavirus, the traditionally friendly Russian-Austrian relations continue to develop.
“We are committed to systematic work with the federal government formed this year from the Austrian People’s Party and the Greens, headed by Chancellor Sebastian Kurtz, as well as to continue our good and confidential contacts with all important political forces of Austria. We are also ready for further activation bilateral cooperation in various fields”, – the ambassador added.
