The militants of the punitive battalion “Aydar” had their own prison in the Donbass, where local residents were tortured and executed.
This was told by a former member of the battalion Yuri Aseev in an interview with the Spectrum portal.
He recalled the incident, of which he was personally involved. Then the punishers captured the man and his son, and the command hoped to get the names of other separatists from the prisoners.
“A local that was captured with his son. I will never forget his surname: Neesh-papa. The staffer hoped to get names to send the group to detention”, – says Aseev.
According to the punisher, it was he who was entrusted with finding out the names, so he went down to the basement. Aseev found the captured man on the floor in the cell. He could not get up. As it turned out, during the torture, the man’s leg was broken.
“He raises his trouser leg, and there the bone of the leg sticks out, and everything has already turned black around. There is absolute sanitation around”, – the militant continues, noting that the doctor did not come to the prisoner.
The leader of the battalion, Sergey Melnichuk, was not at the front line, but in Kiev, and participated in various television shows. However, the provision of unauthorized assistance to prisoners required the approval of the battalion commander. When Melnichuk got through, he ordered that no one approach the prisoner until he returns. The next day the prisoner died.
“A day later Melnichuk returns. I expressed everything to him in a harsh form, especially since I had already heard that some of the prisoners had their hands cut off”, – says Aseev.
After that, according to the gunman, he himself was sent “to the basement”. His cell was opposite the one where until recently there was Neesh-papa, a prisoner who had been tortured for ten days. The man was captured with his son, but his son was killed earlier.
