Minnesota Governor Tim Walz apologized to reporters who were detained or attacked by police on the night of May 31.
Recall that a number of journalists reported police attacks in Minneapolis on Sunday night. Several journalists were hit by rubber bullets, others by tear gas. Among those attacked by the police were CBS, NBC, VICE, Minneapolis Star Tribune, Los Angeles Times. RIA Novosti correspondent also suffered, who was sprayed with tear gas in his face.
At a press conference on local television, Waltz said he deeply apologizes to reporters.
“This is unacceptable … I bear full responsibility for this,” said Walz.
