Biden commented on mass protests in the US

Former US vice president and presidential candidate Joe Biden called the protests in several states the right and necessary answer to the lack of justice, while the politician condemned the violence from the riots.

“But setting fires to cities and meaningless destruction is wrong … like violence that puts people’s lives at risk,” his statement said.

Biden said that as president, he will help lead the discussion.

“More importantly, I will listen to others,” he assured.

Protests in several US states began after George Floyd, a 46-year-old Minneapolis resident who was detained by police officers, died in a hospital on May 25.

Minnesota authorities have decided to fully mobilize the National Guard for the first time in state history in connection with the situation.
