The official also said that the victim was a Palestinian who had mental health problems.
Later, the Secretary-General of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Saib Erekat, commented on the situation.
“Israeli occupying forces in East Jerusalem killed Iyad Khairi, a 32-year-old Palestinian with a disability. A crime that will go unpunished if the world does not cease to regard Israel as a state above the law, ” he wrote on a social network.
