Interception of US bombers by the Russian Air Force

The Russian Ministry of Defense showed footage of the interception of two B-1B Lancer US Air Force bombers by Russian fighters.

According to the Ministry of Defense, Russian radar controls were tracked by bombers “at a considerable distance” from the Russian border.

The Ukrainian Su-27 and MiG-29, the Turkish KS-135, the Polish F-16 and MiG-29, the Romanian F-16 and MiG-21 and the Greek F-16 accompanied them along the route from South Dakota to the Black and Baltic Seas.

The crews of Russian fighters approached a safe distance from air targets, identified them as B-1B strategic aircraft, after which American bombers changed the direction of flight from the state border of the Russian Federation, the military department said.
