China urged not to interfere with Hong Kong affairs from outside

China called on countries to stop interfering in Hong Kong affairs and warned the United States that it was ready to take countermeasures.

It is reported with reference to the words of Zhao Lijiang, spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

Earlier, the Foreign Ministries of the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and the United States made a joint statement, indicating that the Hong Kong National Security Act of Hong Kong was contrary to the provisions of the Declaration on the Autonomy of the Region signed by Britain and China.

“The relevant countries are grossly interfering in the affairs of Hong Kong and in the internal affairs of the PRC, China condemns this and expresses strong protest, we have made a presentation to the respective countries. We urge all relevant countries to respect the sovereignty of China and stop any attempts to intervene in the affairs of Hong Kong”, – the diplomat said commenting on the statement.

In addition, he said that the United States “should immediately stop interfering in Hong Kong, if they continue to insist on intervention, China is ready to take the necessary countermeasures”.

Earlier, the Chinese parliament passed a resolution on the development of a security bill in Hong Kong. The document was developed specifically for autonomy and involves a ban on subversive and separatist activities, as well as any forms of incitement aimed at overthrowing the central government, terrorism and outside interference. This caused dissatisfaction with the anti-government forces of Hong Kong and a number of Western countries.
