China adopts resolution to develop Hong Kong law

The Chinese parliament passed a resolution to draft a security bill in Hong Kong.

For the “decision to create and improve the legal system and enforcement mechanisms to ensure national security in the special administrative region of Hong Kong”, 2,878 voted, against – 1, 6 deputies abstained.

The resolution delegates to the NPC Standing Committee the development of a security bill specifically for Hong Kong.

Earlier it became known that the legislative body of the PRC will consider a bill to ensure national security in the special administrative region of Hong Kong.

The document was developed specifically for autonomy and involves a ban on subversive and separatist activities, as well as any forms of incitement aimed at overthrowing the central government, terrorism and outside interference. This caused dissatisfaction with the anti-government forces of Hong Kong and a number of Western countries.
