The pilot of the German contingent of NATO told the newspaper The Washington Post about “meetings” with Russian pilots over the waters of the Baltic Sea. According to him, Russians sometimes allow themselves liberties, for example, show the middle finger.
NATO military pilots are being harassed by Russian pilots over the Baltic, some of them even show indecent gestures. This edition of The Washington Post was told by German pilot Emari Sven Jacob, who serves in the Estonian air base.
According to him, the tensions between Russia and the North Atlantic Alliance have a practical effect for military pilots – there are more opportunities to meet with Russian colleagues in the air.
“Sometimes pilots fly at a distance of less than ten meters from Russian aircraft. It’s close enough to wave the hand to another pilot or show him the middle finger, as one Russian pilot recently did, ” said the frightened Jacob.
