The office of the representative of the United States at the trade negotiations temporarily excluded 78 items from the list of customs duties on Chinese products, which was introduced in September 2018. This follows from the official notice posted on the electronic database of the US Federal Register.
The document notes that, making such a decision, the US authorities “decided to satisfy a number of requests” of American companies to exclude goods from the list, which includes Chinese products for $ 200 billion, and took into account many factors – in particular, some of these goods were available for purchase only from Chinese manufacturers.
Exceptions will be valid until August 7, 2020. Among the items excluded from the list were, among other things, several types of animal feed, children’s paint sets for drawing, travel bags.
