In the demilitarized zone separating the Korean Peninsula, violations of the silence regime were recorded.
This was announced on Tuesday, May 26, at the UN command under the leadership of the United States.
According to reports, the incident was recorded on May 3. Both the Republic of Korea and the DPRK violated the cease-fire – then a shootout occurred in the demilitarized zone. Allegedly, the North Korean military fired four shots in the direction of the UN command post, which is located on the South Korean side. Fire was fired from large-caliber weapons.
Representatives of South Korea and the United States considered the incident an accident. However, this did not stop South Korean fighters from opening fire in the direction of the DPRK after half an hour two guns.
Neither in Seoul nor in Pyongyang did not comment on what happened.
