In Syria, the Russian and Syrian military conducted joint exercises. This was reported by the head of the base point Tartus Vyacheslav Rodionov.
It was in the port of Tartous that the maneuvers took place. The military were working on protecting the port from a gang of saboteurs.
“A joint tactical exercise of the SAR and Russian Navy was conducted, and in the course of the joint tactical exercise the issues of universal defense of the Tartus base point were worked out. All goals of the planned exercise have been achieved, and the Russian SAR and Navy Navy are ready to protect and defend the Tartus sea base”, – he said.
The maneuvers involved the Russian counter-sabotage boat “Raptor,” the boat “Kinel,” the mine trawler “Ivan Antonov,” as well as the Syrian Navy trawlers and missile boats.
