Chinese Foreign Minister comments on US claims over pandemic

Foreign Minister Wang Yi called Washington’s lawsuits against Beijing because of the coronavirus pandemic devoid of legal basis and trampling international law.

“These pious cases against China are devoid of a factual basis, have no legal basis, no legal evidence, have no international precedents, this is one hundred percent product that does not have a quality certificate”, – he said at a press conference.

According to him, China, like other countries, suffered from an “unexpectedly outbreak of the epidemic”.

“The Chinese side has an open position in the issue of research cooperation with the international scientific community to study the source of coronavirus. At the same time, we believe that this process should be professional, fair and constructive. Fair – means that political intervention should be in finding the source excluded”, – the head of department added.

Earlier, the US state of Missouri sued the PRC, accusing the country of a pandemic. Mississippi authorities also announced their intention to file a similar lawsuit.
